Burnley Council are offering interest free loans to Landlords wanting to bring empty properties in the Compulsory Landlord Licencing areas back to use.
If you are looking to bring a vacant property back in to use, I would like to bring your attention to the following:
Empty Property Loans: Interest-free loans of up to £20,000 are available to accredited landlords (and those working towards accreditation). The property must be in a selective licensing area and have been vacant for at least 6 months. The loan is repayable over 10 years.
Payment of Selective Licensing Fee: We will pay the selective licensing fee of loan applicants who have acquired a vacant property within four months of applying for a loan. The property must have been vacant for 12 months or more and require remedial work that has been identified by the council.
Council Tax Rebate: A rebate of 6 months council tax is available to accredited landlords and those who intend to occupy the property when they bring a vacant property back into to use.

If you would like to consider this option and require more information, please do not hesitate to contact the Council’s vacant property team on 01282 425011 ext 3188 asking for John Killion or alternatively you can email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
