RPC Lettings - For Tenants

For Tenants

During the Corvid-19 outbreak we are following government and SafeAgent recommendations. The office is now open Monday to Friday 9 to 5 but closed on Saturday.  We will do our best to support tenants during this difficult time and that includes protecting our staff, contractors and all clients. Your rent is still due and we expect you to pay.  If you are having difficulties please contact us by email or phone and let us know.  If you have an urgent repair we will send out contractors as soon as possible but please let us know if you are self-isolating or if there is any illness in the house.  Allow the contractor to maintain a 2 meter distance from anyone in the house.

Welcome to RPC. If you are looking for a property to let, we will do our best to find a house to match your needs. We have been in business since 2003 and have found homes for hundreds of tenants, including both private payers and tenants on benefits. The minimum stay is a 6 month tenancy, but at the end of the 6 months this automatically becomes a rolling tenancy and you can stay until you or the landlord give notice to quit. Some tenants have been in the same property for ten years and more.

Renting a property is a two way contract. Your landlord provides a property that will be your own home while you live there. You have to pay the rent, pay the rates and utility bills and be responsible for your bins, keep the back yard tidy and generally look after the property and keep it decent. You must not disturb the neighbours or cause a nuisance, and you must not break the law and you must not damage the property.

In return, the landlord is responsible for the gas safety certificate and basic structural repairs. If you have any repair issues while you are in the property, you must contact RPC who will report this to the landlord and arrange work needed through the landlord.

We do require references and checks on your previous residence. We cannot let any property until we have met you and you have viewed the house. There are no tenant administration fees, but deposits of one month's rent are required on all properties.  This deposit will be lodged in The Deposit Protection Scheme and you will be given full information about it and about how to reclaim your deposit at the end of the tenancy.  Some properties also require rent in advance.   You must have a good character reference to qualify for any property with RPC.

Hi Mujeeb We cannot thank you enough for the help and support that you have given us with our issues with the local council. Without your efforts we would have lost a considerable amount of money and our properties would have remained unlettable. At all times you have kept us fully informed... Read testimonials

Mujeeb Rehman Mayor MedalSince founding RPC Letting (one of Burnley's leading Property Management companies) I have always wanted to make things better in my hometown of Burnley. Being born and raised in this town makes you forget all the things we have here that we take for granted. Our parks and surrounding greenspaces and our local heritage like Townley Hall, Weavers Triangle and Pendle Hill. We have a great nightlife and a variety of places to eat around our town. This is why I invested my time and energy into Burnley.
Our Property Management business has gone from strength to strength and my continuous love for Burnley pushed me to find Property Investor and Landlord to also invest in Burnley.
Growing up in Burnley's not so affluent area gave me insight to the plight of families (some of whom I classed as friends as children). It has been hard for me to see people struggle in our towns other areas too and our team at RPC Letting Agents Burnley did our best to step up to issues caused by the pandemic by helping local people with food parcels and financial donations. Over the years we have also sponsored sports teams and events to keep our towns youths active and still continue to support them.

Last week Mayor and Lord Wajid Khan honoured our efforts with the Mayors Medal. Its great to receive a Mayors medal for my contributions and efforts during these tough times. I am truly humbled by the award I received and am grateful to have been in a position where I was able to assist the people of my town. I want to thank everyone who has been apart of our journey and look forward to a more prosperous future invite more landlord to join us as property management clients to add to growing portfolio.

We often report local authorities criticising the standards of letting agents and landlords - now here's a quite different story.

Letting agents and landlords have been praised by Burnley council for their professional approach to looking after their properties and tenants.

Mujeeb Rehman, of RPC Lettings, has also become the first landlord to achieve the gold standard as part of the council's Good Landlord and Agent Scheme, or GLAS.
